The only legalization that I saw that was approved was for Missouri. Any others?

Maryland. I'm assuming we already had it for medicinal purposes, because we do have "dispensaries" already. But what got approved was, I think, a broader legalization.

I was watching Arkansas. But, it didn't pass. I saw Missouri passed. Awesome. Shouldn't be illegal anyway. But...cigarettes and alcohol is. And they're more dangerous. Evil side of me is saying it's population control. Kill em with the legal stuff because marijuana has been proven to help alleviate some medical symptoms!

Any time a state legalizes it, I think of the neighboring states that will have more access to it. With Kansas City, with suburbs in Kansas, they'll be benefiting.

And Kentucky/Tennessee border it and Oklahoma and Arkansas with no legalization.

I would expect it will be a long time for the Deep South or TX to legalize it, but I'm rather surprised Georgia hasn't.

Both Dakotas did not, however Minnesota is now totally controlled by democrats, so they should legalize there, which means a short drive to buy some. Combine that with Delta 8 edibles and it's really a non issue. It being illegal doesn't stop anyone who already uses it around here. Kristi Noem allowed Delta 8 to remain legal for adults over 21 which was nice of her. She could have criminalized it like North Dakota did. Regardless, all these republicans do is cost themselves tax revenue by not being early adopters.

I came from liberal Minnesota and liberal Minneapolis, and MN should have been one of the first states to legalize it, but methinks the Mayo Clinic in Rochester is a big lobbying force. I grew up there. Just can't imagine a Marijuana Dispensary in the city of Rochester.

If MN legalizes it, that leaves conservative WI sandwiched between IL and MN, and they'd be then pressured into legalizing it. It's only 76 miles from Milwaukee to Chicago.

Given that Maryland extends into West Virginia, that would make for a very profitable dispensary, near the West Virginia Border.

Marijuana shouldn’t be illegal but it is far from harmless.

Marijuana must be properly dosed to avoid unpleasant reactions. The biggest thing that happens is people who don't know what they are doing overdoing it on edibles which will result in quite an unpleasant experience.

It's an alcohol substitute, one that I don't really use that often. I'd prefer to do no drugs, but are we going to ban them all? It's not going to happen, so we have to pick our battles.

Here are the states that approved and rejected.

Here is the first link on my search that was free:

Quote:
Voters in Maryland and Missouri approved the legalization, while similar proposals were rejected in Arkansas, North Dakota and South Dakota.

Missouri's recreational pot law is terribly written. Even users voted against it. Lots of pork and loopholes. But most can't be bothered with reading what they'd voting for. I'm okay with rec weed, but this is a sloppy bill.
