I have noticed that the capital city in the Ukraine has been referred to Kyiv and pronounced Keeve lately on the news. Apparently its the way Ukraine calls it. And Kiev was how Russia called the city.
So which do you prefer? And what will it be called once Russia takes control?
Too funny. Literally overnight, masses of regime media watchers not only changed how they had been spelling and pronouncing Kiev for decades, but are now lecturing others on the new “correctness” of it

What about "Odessa" (Russian)/"Odesa" (Ukrainian)? The city in TX and the town in DE use the Russian spelling. I passed through Odessa, Delaware many times on my way to the beach when growing up near Philadelphia (when will *that* spelling be changed?).

Just because we've been wrong all these years is no reason to continue being wrong.
the Ukrainian government mounted a campaign four years ago to secure international approval for the name of its capital city. There is even a popular Twitter hashtag, #KyivNotKiev
.
