Now that Putin has conquered Ukraine (present actions are just mopping up), he seems to have two choices of what to do next:
(1.) Should he simply put another puppet govt into place in Kiev that will do exactly as Putin orders, every time, and then pull most of his troops out and send them home?
or
(2.) Should Putin put in the puppet govt, and then keep the troops in Ukraine, perhaps for further use in any country nearby that gives him any trouble?

Yeah the government that was brought in as a result of the 2014 Ukrainian Revolution was backed and financed by groups like the International Renaissance Foundation owned by George Soros and the CIA founded National Endowment for Democracy. It's telling that soon after Yanukovych was removed the European Union–Ukraine Association Agreement was signed.
I'm suspicious of whatever government Putin allows to be installed. If it's like South Ossetia and Abkhazia then perhaps they might just have to deal with economic dependency on Russia.
