Teachers are bound by the policies implemented in their school/district and the unions do not represent most education systems in the country beyond being a professional organization. But its funny how the pundits in support of the Governor see no problem, but those same people are the ones that would flood school board meetings and lambaste teachers over their child being spoken to in that manner...

DeSantis could have handled it with more grace. He didn't -- showing his true colors.
This is exactly why he will not do well on the national stage.
It may work in Florida, not so much for most of the rest of the country.
Most don’t like his doubling down, or making dumb excuses, or blaming others, when he is called out for a poor statements.
A smart leader would have explained his statement with more nuance.

Covidians have no credibility when it comes to accusing anyone else of "bad behavior" during the pandemic. So, I don't really put much value in what you have to say about DeSantis' comments. You defended the nonsense for 2 straight years.
Don't you all love it when leftists are accusing DeSantis of "bullying" some kids for wearing masks?
Yet, these are the very same leftists cheered on politicians with their stupid mask/vax mandate so kids who aren't vaccinated or wear mask should not attend school in person, or lose their jobs, or can't go inside the store to buy groceries.
