We’ve already had actors as presidents.

And probably more to come, unless the US gets involved in a major war on the scale of 1941-1945, with real existential threats and a draft.

Only then, in the aftermath, would we see a real, no nonsense, president again, if we see anything at all.

He does not seem to be really concerned about the lives of the Ukrainian civilians but in escalating the conflict. That's how I interpret his actions notwithstanding his bravery.

I think he's doing a good job in uniting the western media in support of Ukraine. I respect his desire to defend his country, and his decision to stay in Ukraine despite being offered a way out. Ukrainians have a right to defend their homeland.

I don't particularly enjoy the hero-worship of Zelensky though, Ukraine pre-invasion wasn't exactly a bastion of a western, liberal democracy.
