Even some reporters are saying "This is not the Third World", "civilized cities", "not impoverished and remote populations", "they're like us", etc. -- as if Syrian and Afghan refugees are any less human than people from Ukraine!!! I'm white anglo and even I picked up on this subtle racism.
Which Asia countries abstained from voting on the UN resolution condemning Russian aggression?
China - India - Laos - Mongolia - Pakistan - Sri Lanka - Vietnam; everyone except those firmly in bed with USA. Also nearly all African countries abstained. The message is clear:
Asians countries have no interest in this war. It is a western war made of western actions involving western people. They are not interested.
Call it racist if you like. Even if true, they won't care. If Syrian and Afghan refugees had not flooded to Europe, I doubt it would have got as much coverage as it did. Did we follow the Georgia invasion or the Kazakhstan invasion so closely?
