Gas in Idaho has always been higher than the rest of the country, but the prices finally dropped almost a dime recently.
The price spike took away most of the drop, so now everyone is paying what our gas has cost us normally. And here, it just dropped a couple of pennies a few days ago.
Since this is the time of year when the gasoline always changes formulas from winter to summer, I don't know what the price today is. It always goes up before it comes down.
As of yesterday I am seeing as high as $3.80 in N. Texas.
Gas for work alone is costing me $100./wk currently.
Add the increased cost of my electric bill to that it takes a huge majority of a paycheck per month for just those two items.
I need a Corolla.

That matches the highest it ever got under Obama in my area.
Sure it is that and higher in some places in Dallas.
I wonder if I should even bother chiming in because I’m terrible about remembering gas prices. I don’t know what it is, but I suspect it’s because I only fill up once or twice a month. Even before I was working in the office and not remotely pre-pandemic. So we are talking about me spending $5 more (or less) a month even if gas swings 30 cents high or low. But it would be good for me to know since it impacts the prices of transported goods.
Anyway, filled up last night and it was 3.79 a gallon.
More so than gas prices directly, the cost of groceries impacts me. I used to spend $80-$90 a week on at the grocery store for me and my daughter. Now it’s usually $110-$130 a week.
But like some else said, the flip side is the value of my house has shot up and I am selling next month. So that’s good. I’ll be moving to a lower cast of living area too where I can buy a house for cash with the proceeds from the sale when I’m ready.
It feels weird quoting myself. I filled up a few days ago for 3.79. I took my daughter's car out tonight to put air in the tires and filled it up for her at the same station and went to a few days ago. It's now 4.29 a gallon. So it swung 50 cents at that station in less than a week. It cost me $3 more than if I filled up last week (she had half a tank). Still not enough to really be too much of an issue for me since I fill up so infrequently. Groceries are the sticking point with me. But I guess those will be going up more too soon with fuel prices going up.
I filled up our two Hondas yesterday. The Shell station on the corner was selling regular for $5.32/gal, so I drove a few blocks into the nearby residential area, where the Mobil station had it for "only" $5.16/gal.
Only needed a half tank and the costco line was the longest i've ever recalled seeing it. The 5 smaller gas stations on the way home ranged from $5.45/gallon for the cheapest unleaded to $5.89/gallon. Hit up the $5.45/gallon...the station right across the street was 44 cents a gallon more at $5.89/gallon as well. Will try for costco if I need a complete fill up in the early morning or late at night when less crowded in the future...probably still crowded any time now?
$3.79 to $4.39 in one week. Biden sucks donkey balls.
Madman Adolph Putin is the reason for these recent massive gas price spikes!
