When most of the Western world is punishing Russia, CNN announced that they will reward Russia.

CNN will no longer broadcast inside Russia, much to the benefit of their populace.

Ha. Yes, that IS quite a reward. I wish they would reward the US as well.

"CNN will stop broadcasting in Russia while we continue to evaluate the situation and our next steps moving forward," a spokesperson said.

News organizations including the BBC and Canadian Broadcasting Corp have also suspended reporting from Russia following the passing of the law.
If you're not towing the Kremlin line you get arrested. Why would any broadcaster want to get in-country correspondents and employees arrested by the Kremlin?

Tucker Carlson may survive with his pro-Putin love-boy fest in Russia, but not others.

Probably because Putin will have the network shut down and all the employees arrested in Russia. CNN knows their product does great damage where ever it airs, so there is no doubt that CNN regrets that it had to come to this.

Russia passed new rules on “fake” news where reporters can be punished up to 15 years in prison. Obviously this prevents free and independent reporting in Russia, why most western media are closing up shop and some independent Russian media began pulling down coverage on Ukraine.

We’re not quite there yet, but let this be a lesson to those who think “fake” news is a threat and needs to be controlled. This IS a Trojan horse to dismantling the first amendment.

Fake news is healthy. It means information is being shared without fear of censorship.
