This is all by design. The Dems want gas to be expensive. Real expensive. Like $15 per gallon.
Then America would turn into a one car per household country, and most likely it would be an electric car.

They apparently prefer to see the economy and working Americans suffer from high gas prices, as opposed to slowing down the push for their Green New Deal. They don't care if the country is ready for the transition or not. They want to force the nation into it ASAP.
The US has been buying oil from Russia for nearly 30 years. It’s traders and refiners, not the Fed government.
This includes 2020 when there was a glut of oil. Bizarre.
Thus far, this year, there have been no trades with Russia.
Biden campaigned on an intention to put applications for new leases/ permits for drilling on hold, while it figured out what’what and apparently did so, once in office. The oil and gas producers bowel that delays would be devastating to production and jobs.
What we don’t hear much about is how oil/ gas producers have long been stockpiling leases and permits. There’s reportedly ten years worth of leases and permits not acted upon.
Absolutely nothing prevents gas/ oil procers from acting on these leases/ permits. Why aren’t they doing so?
Most if not all oil/ gas producers are publicly- traded corporations with a primary mission to deliver shareholder value.
Joe Biden one week after he was elected signed an order that has cost North Dakota billions by reducing oil production.
For 14 months, North Dakota has been begging the Biden administration to extract more oil and has spent tremendous amounts of resources on lawsuits because the state is above trillions of cubic feet of natural gas and an estimated 4.3 billion barrels of oil.
It is absolutely disgrace, how Biden is allowing Putin's oil to be imported when the Putin is using that oil money to commit genocide in Ukraine, but North Dakota is losing billions because Biden is with-holding tremendous amounts of oil from the Bakken formation because the state votes Republican.
While Republican North Dakota was filing lawsuits to extract more oil in 2021, the Biden administration was doing all it could to make North Dakota poor because it is one of the most heavily Republican states.
There has not been a lease on since January 27th and oil and gas leases have stalled.
An auction this month which would have meant a gusher of oil under the Bakken oil play with 4.3 billion of reserves and trillions of cubic feet of natural gas will not happen because of the Biden administration.
“There were leases the Trump administration had all prepared and ready to go for first quarter 2021, and the Biden administration came in and put a halt to it,” said Kathleen Sgamma, Western Energy Alliance president. “There has not been a lease sale in Montana for all of 2021 and now there won’t be one for the first quarter of 2022.”
