I won't be in the market for a new vehicle for another 5-6 years, but I'll consider an EV then. I wouldn't want to be buying a new car now with the supply chain issues.

OP, we have a 2009 Prius2, at the Nov 30, 2008 at low of stock market, for $23,000
This Prius2, 99K miles, 18 months ago could be bought used, retail @ $3000; Early Feb 2022 @$6000; Today Mar 9, 2022, @$12k-14k. We are not selling even though we only put on 1000miles/yr.
Bought a ebike on black-friday sale, last Nov. Today, this same ebike with same accessory is 25% more and rising.

No. I have two vehicles that are not fuel efficient, but it’s still cheaper for me to keep them and drive them, even with the elevated cost of fuel.
In general, I am interested in plug-in hybrids, like the Jeep Wrangler 4xe. But my interest in this isn’t due to leftists in our government trying to push me in that direction; I’m just interested in the technology. Maybe I’ll buy one in the future when the Joe Biden supply chain issues get under control.
Moved back to California for retirement 3 years ago.
Immediately bought a Chevy Bolt - with all of the rebate offers got about $14K of the original price (State, County, Costco and PG&E discounts). Charge at home and fast charge in town while doing grocery shopping.
Also bought a Toyota Camry Hybrid (52 mpg) to replace a 15 year old Toyota Sienna with 100K miles on it.
This past October finished putting solar on the roof claiming the 26% federal rebate. We will break even in 5 years.
Nope. I don't want to flush my money down the toilet. Especially on a fad that is a huge lie in the first place. The next vehicle I buy will likely be a car or truck from before they were equipped with computers and all kinds of unnecessary electronic bull****. I'm thinking something from the 1960s or early 1970s. Of course, it will be a task finding one in good condition for a reasonable price.
If there were a car made today without all the electronics crap but having the advantages of modern engineering, I'd jump on it. The car I have now is about as close as it gets these days: manual trans, no power anything (locks, windows, GPS, keyless entry, etc). It's a 2018. What electronic doo-dads there are on it, I can easily ignore.
Of course, if fuel prices keep going up... maybe a horse would be a better option.
Volobjectitarian[/b];63048856]No - and the gas prices are not because of Biden, nor do they belong to him.
Crude oil is a globally traded commodity, subject to fluctuations in the market, and American politics is just one of hundreds of input factors to what speculators guess/bet on crude oil prices.
I could link to 100+ articles that say Biden's energy policy is connected to rising gas prices, so its not just the global market for oil that is causing gas prices to spike here:
Biden OWNS most of the gas price increases, & Libs & media deflections (like the post above) will fail. They are trying to blame it on Putin, Covid-19, global oil markets, ect.. everything BUT Biden. Biden wants high gas prices to force Americans to buy electric cars, & everybody knows it, & American voters are
Voters will hit back at Biden's inflationary energy policies come November. Here's one last link:
77% of the American public agreed that Russian oil and gas should be blocked.
