When Trump initially came to the office, he wanted to keep good relations with Russia ( and thus preventing it from uniting with China,) and he didn't want anything to do with Ukraine.
The Democrats twisted his arm to act in the opposite manner, threatening him with impeachment, to which Trump obliged.
If he were to continue his initial policies - of course there would be no war between Russia and Ukraine.
But if he would have been forced by Democrats (again) to talk to Russia from the position of power and complete disregard for Russian security concerns, as Biden's administration did, the result would have been all the same.
Had Trump gotten a second term do you think Putin would have still invaded?
Question is - Had Trump gotten a second term, would NATO still keep pushing east and belligerent propaganda unleashed, to provoke Russia into military response?

Provoke Russia....ha ...surely you must be joking!
Putin ordered Trumpchurian Candidate to pull US out of Syria, Afghanistan, UN and NATO. Lift sanctions on Russia and withhold military aid to Ukraine. Connect the dots, he was preparing for an invasion all along.
Only difference is Orange Benedict Arnold would've sanctioned Ukraine and supplied military aid to his BFF Putin had he won re-election.

Putin invading Ukraine.
You're right-he didn't really care for Ukraine.
But the impeachment was more about the getting dirt on Biden than the delay of aid to Ukraine.
If Zelensky was willing to engage, aid to Ukraine from Trump wouldn't have been halted.
If Republicans held the House, there would be no impeachment inquiry, but the delay of aid to Ukraine would have discovered and restored in short manner as well.
Nonetheless, it seemed like Trump didn't care what the aid was for, but more about himself for re-election.
With the more than half of the Republicans in the Senate mostly pro Ukraine, pro NATO and war hawkish, I don't think Trump could take a 180 degree reversal in US policy on Ukraine and Russia, including dropping aid to Ukraine and sanctions on Russia, and outright aligning with Russia.
To answer the OP, I think Putin would have still invaded (if Trump was re-eleced) but possibly the war would have ended quicker with Ukraine getting no assistance, and Russia putting in a puppet government. But I say that with uncertainty, because the Republicans in Congress would likely not let Trump be easy on Russia like that.
