This is just plain disgusting and disturbing. A slain rapper’s corpse was hung up on display and eulogized at a DC nightclub:

This is how they honor him????

Warning- the pictures are disturbing.

In the old days when photography first appeared, loved ones would often prop corpses up like that for pictures with the family, as well as for the funeral. Can you imagine standing perfectly still for a picture standing next to a corpse? They liked to dress them up and make it appear as if they were participating in their favorite past time or hobby. That's what this reminded me of.

Do corpses bother you? I've had to bag a few when I was involved in the medical profession, so maybe I am desensitized. As far as I'm concerned, this is all part of the cycle of life, and we all honor the passing of our loved ones the way we or they prefer. There's a lot of disgusting things going on in the world. This one doesn't bother me, so long as no one was hurt, violated, etc. Thousands of years ago, pharaohs were sometimes buried with their living spouses. Now that would be something to complain about...

So technically it was an open casket funeral...

It is odd, and a bit creepy but if people wanted to attend then is it really that much of a stretch from an "open casket"?

I am actually a bit more disturbed at this part.

Quote:
On Sunday, the rapper’s friends and family gathered at Bliss, a Washington, D.C., nightclub to honor his memory at $40 a pop, according to Hot97.com.
I don't think I have ever seen a funeral or a Memorial Service with a Cover Charge. I wonder if they also had a 2 drink minimum.

Wasn't this an Alan Jackson song?

Edit -- Joe Diffie, actually

And then there are the obvious references to "Weekend At Bernie's"

This song was the FIRST thing that popped into my mind when I saw this article.

Then again Joe Diffie died in 2020. I doubt they actually "propped him up", as he requested in his song, but who knows.

Yes, it's garish and classless, but I have always thought the embalmed, dressed up and rouged up, display of the dead was garish and creepy anyway.

I immediately started singing this song when I read the article.

The Democrat base turned out for this macabre display. But, it appears the Hennesy and Colt45 was flowing as the tunes played and the corpse dangled there. Unbelievable.
