Does anybody feel the standard of living is dropping? (gas price, generation, dollar)

Thanks to the government debauching the money ("inflation"), today's worker earning $15/hour has less buying power than a guy who earned $1/day, back in 1900.
Of course, back then, government taxes were only 0.09%, versus today's 42% (aggregate local, state, and federal).
A liberal gov't cares for the poor. The rich care for themselves.
But life is not too easy nor a given that we will keep up with inflation for those of us in the middle class. You have to plan, save, invest and make the right lifestyle choices all along the way. And then hope that fate and serendipity are on your side.
IMO we have just cleared the most serious and risky period since WW2, and should be thankful for that. But that success of course came at significant economic price. Some of that being current higher inflation due to increasing demands (a good thing) and restriction of production and/or delivery from supply/demand inequalities and disruptions. (a bad thing).
IMO this will be temporary, more than months, probably a few years. But we will prevail and return to more normalcy and less inflation in due time.

The liberal government cares about the votes from the poor, and they could care less about the poor.
Every government policy hurts the poor without exception.
A society would be much better if everybody cares about themselves and stop imposing their morality onto others.
Curt out the avocado toast and Starbucks, and you'll be a billionaire in no time.
Maybe you need to find a better job. I've been too busy planning a lake house to worry about inflation. I never expected prices to remain stable forever.
To the bold only.
Are you telling us that you don't care about lumber prices?
Or
Are you telling us you just don't care and you are so rich, that you just don't care?
People lost their jobs because of covid and survived on credit. Now the payments are more than they can pay and the cost of everything else has gone up.
For the first time in decades, I feel my standard of living is slipping fast. My money doesn’t go as far as before, and everything is more expensive. For example, avocado at Costco used to be 5.99-6.99 for 6, and I buy them almost weekly. Now it’s 8.49, a price I have never seen.
Thank you so much, Democrats!
The more the value of the dollar erodes... the more your standard of living will drop..
In due time... id say in this decade... more and more countries will stop using dollars...
More and more countries will stop sending their goods here for a weak dollar....
and more and more debt will be racked up...
The US is irresponsible at being the world reserve currency and quite frankly ...We do not deserve the status any more...
The good ol days of printing fiat and sending it for commodities are over.. We are broke

A liberal government creates the poor... gives them breadcrumbs for votes and then creates more poverty,,,
Its quite obvious that the more you rely on the government, the more they can control your life.
For the bottom 99%, it’s been dropping for decades.
I agree with this. It has been. Inflation is bad at the moment but my bills and expenses have been seriously increasing for decades and the quality of a person's life when under constant financial distress lowers considerably.

Wrong.
