I said nothing of the kind. Grow up and quit lying.

But conservatives have been telling everyone California will sink anytime now? Where is the doom and gloom?
California ranks 48th on the quality life metric while raking in a $68 BILLION surplus, while being under nearly complete control of the party which (according to the Dems) cares more about the people than their political rivals and your question is why conservatives think it’s a failed state?

California is a prime example of how NOT to run a government.

And yet it rates the 6th happiest state in the country. https://worldpopulationreview.com/st...appiest-states

That rating is based on:

Emotional & Physical Well-Being
Low Adult depression rate
Fewest work hours
Best weather in the country

That matches my experience. And I would match my quality of life against anyone on this forum.

High, actually. As Leona Valley points out, it has an F rating on crimegrade.com.

So ignore their obligations and suddenly everything is wonderful.

Via email, Nation offered this summary of 2019 California pension data , which just became available:

California’s total unfunded pension liability (aka pension debt) remains at more than $1.0 trillion, measured on a market basis; this translates into $77,000 per household

Is California's general economic output supposed to be the sole prevailing metric for determining that it's a land of gilded streets and prosperity flowing out to the masses inhabiting the land? India and Brazil are ranked as being top 10 global economies. You could make the argument that they have some good districts and areas with a developing middle class but I doubt most people would consider those nations' populations as being better off than smaller nations like Iceland or Singapore.

With so much land, population, money, and political power, it may be more than a state. It could be labelled a republic or some other entity that means more power than most states and influence beyond its borders.

California... budget... they actually would be wise to hold that money as they are ever only a moment away from being bankrupted by disasters.

Changes in Oklahoma's liquor laws take effect Monday

"OKLAHOMA CITY — Oklahoma liquor stores are selling cold beer, and grocery stores and gas stations are now selling wine and strong beer."

Just an FYI.

None of the states have paid back any of the money. Nor did they use it when it was given to them for "pandemic relief".
