That's because older more vulnerable people who refused to take the vaccine still run the risk of dying even with the milder omicron variant. I am 49 not vaccinated and had covid late last fall. Felt like the flu. Actually the flu i had a couple years ago was worse. I probably will get the vaccine at some point but if you are a senior or have pre existing conditions it's probably wise to get the jab.

I saw that headline yesterday. Just wondering which way people want it. Socially distance and wear masks, or scream about freedom and the authoritarianism of mask mandates. Seems like folks can't make up their minds what they actually want as a response.
