The Father of Our Country must be purged entirely from his namesake university. James Madison and Winston Churchill also must go.
Quote:
But it’s not just the university’s name that’s a problem. Just blocks from the main campus is the Mount Vernon Campus, named for George Washington’s former slave plantation. Every day, hundreds of Black students walk on a campus named after an enslaver of men and study at a site named after dark parts of history. Such sites, among other locations and buildings, are touted as glorified mementos here at GW. The indignity and injustice of such sites remain overlooked. The racist visions of James Madison, Winston Churchill and others are glorified through building names, programs, statues and libraries that honor their memory.

The controversial Winston Churchill Library must go. The university’s contentious colonial moniker must go. Even the university’s name, mascot and motto — “Hail Thee George Washington”— must be replaced. The hypocrisy of GW in not addressing these issues is an example of how Black voices and Black grievances go ignored and highlights the importance of strong Black leadership.

At some point we need to give the left the Civil War II they are constantly asking for.

This is ridiculous. First of all it needs to be understood that people are a product of the times that they live in. Ugh!

The left who are pushing this don't care about Washington or the others per say, and they don't care about black people. What they care about is pushing a narrative that the U.S founded by said founders is a irredeemable nation and thus ultimately the constitution they wrote is irredeemable also. That is what it is all about, trashing the current form of government to bring in a new socialist order.

And if you don't believe that, take a look around to what they have been doing the last several years and how they escalate since. They don't even support free speech anymore, the bedrock of freedom and so called democracy. The 1st, the 2nd, the 4th, 5th and 6th amendments are standing in their way.

Trump was right, the left wouldn't stop at just confederate generals. Our founding fathers, our history, our civilization as we know it today... They are trying to tear the whole damn thing down.

If our founding fathers were black Africans, we'd probably still have slavery.

You don't even have to go that far to find slavery today. Haiti has the second largest slave population, estimated to be almost a quarter of a million people in 2014. Blacks enslaving blacks, so naturally, the left doesn't give a crap. Nor do they care that slavery was practiced all over North and South America during the colonial period. Instead, we must focus only on the evils committed by white men of the past, because it fits an agenda and a narrative being pushed.

Strictly speaking the thread title is inaccurate. This is an "op-ed", an essay by a GW student chosen for publication by the Washington Post, not an editorial.
