President Biden launched Operation Fly Formula to speed up the import of infant formula and start getting more formula to stores as soon as possible. Under Operation Fly Formula, USDA and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) are authorized to use DOD-contracted commercial aircraft to pick up overseas infant formula that meets U.S. health and safety standards, so it can get to store shelves faster.

I don't think you have to see it as humiliating, any more than if you broke your arm and a neighbor brought over a casserole. It's a gesture of support among peer nations.

No, I'm not the least bit embarrassed. We have more than enough money to feed them, there's a snafu in getting the resources out. It's not like we're too poor to do it. Temporarily, there's a shortage in the supply.
Again, any more than a neighbor bringing over a casserole in a time of need.
Gratitude is maybe more warranted here, than arrogance, considering we may actually NEED this formula.
Lovely, my butt. This is not charity, US taxpayers are spending big bucks to get it, including a rush premium. We are paying for the formula, along with all costs associated with transporting it here. Right now the current stocks shipped over are going to hospitals, not grocery shelves. Taxpayers will be continuing to subsidize the transport cost once we do start getting stock for groceries, otherwise parents might be forking over an extra $20-80 a can of formula.
This should have NEVER been allowed to happen. They knew this was a problem for months.
