Joe Biden, May 25, 2022: "There have always been restrictions. When the 2nd amendment was passed, you couldn't own a cannon. There were all kinds of limitations."

Once again, Biden tries to justify his desire to violate the Constitution, by lying about what it says, and lying about what history clearly shows.

Joe, put down the ice cream for a moment and pick up a history book. Many wealthy, patriotic people in George Washington's time owned cannon. Some of the first shots of the Revolutionary War were fired by British troops marauding through the countryside, invading people's homes and farms, searching for (among other things) privately-owned cannon, gunpowder, bombs, etc. And that was AFTER the Declaration of Independence was signed, taking the United States out from under the jurisdiction of the British King.

Biden also brought up no examples of the "all kinds of limitations" he claims were in effect at the time. That's because he couldn't... because there were NO limitations on what kind of "arms" people could own. A few even owned complete warships, armed with - you guessed it - cannon. And muskets and other such arms.

Joe, the more you open your mouth, the more you prove that you have no idea what you're talking about. And little or no grasp of American history, or why the country was formed as it was. You're just making it up as you go along, and WISHING it were true... and hoping you can fool a few remaining people into believing it actually was that way.

You know, old Joe's memory is failing and all his colleagues and contemporaries who wrote the Bill of Rights are all dead so he can't ask them...

The battle lines are drawn. They seem intent on starting a civil a war over the deaths of a couple hundred people per year when there are 750,000 abortions per year and hundreds of thousands that die from heart disease and diabetes. This will be interesting. Curious how state governors respond. It would have to be an executive order....they don't have the senate votes due to the filibuster rule to pass much of anything besides spending bills.

If anything their rhetoric is only going to drive AR-15 sales to all time highs. Every time there's a shooting like this gun sales go up. Every time he mentions the term "AR-15" in public he increases awareness and will only drive more interested buyers.

I’m sure he didn’t come up with that line himself, but it works.

UGH Joe sure likes to tell the same old lies over and over again.

Citizens could own cannons but the thing that prevented the average guy was the cost of buying it.

In some corners of the Colonies men were required to have a rifle, just in case.

There was also a thing known as Privateers that were like Pirates but with the official/ unofficial stamp of approval to harass and seize British merchant ships.

During the war of 1812 the British were back and trying to retake the the Colonies, In my area they tried to extort the towns near me or else they threatened to destroy their industries. One town said no, the British landed and the citizens fought them back to their ships. Imagine a modern army landing on the beach and there is no one to stop them but armed citizens? Kind of sounds like what we are seeing play out in Ukraine...

What is really lousy is that most of these politicians that are screaming for gun bans have no idea what they are talking about.

What is really disgusting is how they will pile on after a shooting like this to hear themselves talk. They will all blame the NRA, the Gun Lobby blah blah blah... what about big tech that hands hundreds of millions of dollars to the Dems? I think Social media has a lot to answer to for giving the deranged an outlet to promote their hate and to live stream their heinous acts.. Yes the shooters use guns but they also crave the attention that the media gives them.

I heard Chucky Schumer actually blaming MAGA America for this latest shooting. He said that we are ok with the blood. What a loser liar that guy is.

Biden we already have restrictions on our Rights. We cannot own a fully automatic rifle.

It works for people who don't know history and think that everything that Biden says is the truth.

For everyone else..Not so much.

"During my 12 and a half years as a member of this body, I have never believed that additional gun control or federal registration of guns would reduce crime. I am convinced that a criminal who wants a firearm can get one through illegal, nontraceable, unregistered sources, with or without gun control"

No, he's been a moron since he entered politics. Remember, this man was the driving force behind our schools becoming hunting preserves.
