It is their generation doing all this. It is the older more rational generations that should be asking them....why is this happening so much among your age group?

Baby boomers did not do this, Gen Xers did not do this but yet today it is commonplace. Is it the violent video games? Too much tech? Increase in family problems?

We had tons of guns back in the old days. Every had them and knew how to use them. Very few crazy events like this happened. Guns are not the problem here. The youth of America are not the victims of guns, they are the actual people causing the problems. How can they be so filled with hate so young?

Now you've got something.

But only if the entire city is evacuated, permanently. And new people who aren't like the former residents, are allowed to move in and take their places.

Soon they will vote for themselves. The attitude of “non importance” being expressed is noted I’m sure among the youth… they will remember.

And the changes can only come via the adults. You want the kids to fix it? They only know is that they are targets.

What does it say about a political movement when kids are used as the pawns?

Probably a good thing…. Getting a break from being told that they aren’t who they were born to be.

Kids are getting everything in school except an education.

Let me get this straight.

These students, who are school kept safe by their teachers, principals, staff, guards if any, neighborhood police etc. etc. so that none of them have ever died or been the targets of mass murderers.....

...are walking out of those safe schools to protest the lack of safety???

You're right. They'll use any excuse to ditch class.
Protesting that besides the fact that there were all of those things it didn’t make a difference, schools are still targets, and maybe something else needs to be considered.

What's wrong with their parents sending kids into school war zones to be sitting ducks with no protection for them? I'm talking about nationwide, not just Texas. Parents should keep their kids home so schools get no money from the state for their attendance until this gets fixed. Money talks, put pressure on your states parents! You should have done this a long time ago!

This is stupid. Given a chance students would walk out to protest Monday mornings.

Not long ago, Dems were against having police in schools. They considered it racist.

Parents should keep their kids home and school them themselves or have online learning. Wayyyy less tax money would be needed from the state to maintain schools.
