I've always wondered that too! Considering how bad the left claims we are....why are people breaking down the boarder to get in here....and why would Griner ever want to come back to the USA anyway?
I'd think we'd be doing her a favor letting her stay in Russia, rather than her spending one more moment in the USA...you know, the hateful, racist and white supremist place where she was very oppressed!
Exactly! I'm sure the Russians are far less racist than the evil heathens here in America
There are many Americans in US prisons for first time marijuana possession crimes. 317,793 Americans are arrested annually for possession of marijuana.
I want American citizens who are being held unjustly to be fought for by our country. It’s only right.
She plead guilty to carrying illegal drugs into Russia. I'm no fan of Russia, but there's nothing "unjust" about her sitting in jail after she admitted to breaking their laws.
The real problem with this case are all the aggrieved liberals crying out about how she's a "victim." What people should be saying is "DON'T CARRY ILLEGAL DRUGS ON INTERNATIONAL FLIGHTS," which is something that the VAST majority of American's already know and understand. If Griner was too stupid to understand that, then she's exactly where she belongs.
The left claims America is evil, racist, and has endless white supremacists.
Why would Griner want to come back?

Dumb question. That's like saying "there's a lot of Christians in America. Why would an atheist want to come here?" or "There's a lot of Democrats here. Why don't Republicans all want to go live in Russia?"
Maybe because its her home, and would like to see it improve, and she doesn't want to be run out by a few idiot rednecks.

Or the real answer is that there are not a bunch of racist, endless white supremacists and America is not evil, and she knows it.
Russia does not have fair trials. You are literally presumed guilty, there's no right to a jury, and there's essentially zero chance she'd be found not guilty. This is a country corrupt to its core. Pleading guilty reduces her maximum sentence and makes her eligible for prisoner swap (which is what Russia wants and why they apprehended her in the first place).

They apprehended her in the first place because she brought drugs into the country. Had she not been so irresponsible she’s have been just fine. Now she’s suffering the consequences for her actions. Hopefully she learns her lesson so as not to put herself in another bad position.

Bingo!
