I think this really captures the most important issues facing voters. The rent is too damn high, the mortgage payment is too damn high, the down payment is too damn big, the gas is too damn expensive, the food is too damn pricey.

Well, as the supporter ( of either party) I'd like to see the detailed analysis of what exactly caused this situation.

It'll never happen. Neither party is willing to make that happen.

I’ll take a stab and say it was the covid policy of deficit spending printed dollars for people not to work.
It turns out money has value because it can be traded for resources and services…
A few trillion here and a few trillion there.
Throw in peoples desire to travel no matter what after being locked down (and you have demand pull inflation on hotels, gas, leisure activities.). Same it true all over. Businesses need workers. They need trucks…they need x. And so they’ll bid up prices because they simply need it.
Money only has value because it can be traded into a good or service. You need people creating the actual value to exchange. You can’t just print trillions of dollars.

Divest from REIT's! They're the ones responsible for much of the rent hikes. And they appear to be price-fixing in some markets, too. They also scooped up a lot of foreclosed homes after the 2008 housing loans debacle, and are offering them as rent-to buy-schemes. They're also buying up trailer parks, raising rents and cutting services, requiring residents to cover more services themselves.
There needs to be a moratorium on new REITs, or on those involved with residential properties, while Congress figures out how to introduce regulations.
