I have no proof, just circumstantial evidence. This same thing happened 4 years ago as I recall. One month before the election gas prices went through the roof.
Barely a week ago I filled my wife's tank and paid $4.09/gal. Today I filled my tank and paid $4.65/gal. This has nothing to do with supply and demand. It is pure price gouging to gain a political edge for the Republicans.
Yep, he probably called some of his friends in the oil industry. Like you (and Jack Welch), I have no proof of my claims, but it makes me feel good to say it, so it must be true.
Well last election that was blamed on Bush the evil republican so it appears your little conspiracy theory is confused.
Sorry I don't get your point. The last election it was McCain vs Obama and the prices were pushed up presumably to try to help McCain. Obviously it failed, but the oil conglomerates made some serious coin anyway. Same thing all over again: Romney win or lose, the oil giants win either way.
Obama wasn't running against McCain he was running against Bush. Did you people even pay attention last election? Hell he's still trying to run against Bush but it aint working this time.

So presumably in 2007 the Democrats did it to gain an edge for Obama?
FYI in 2007 everything was going through roof across all energy sectors, even the relative stable price of coal was going up. That swing upwards started nearly a full year year before the election.
