Part of me agrees with no chase. Understanding human nature and drives a certain subset of people are doing to get an adrenaline rush by evading the police with a high speed chase, and they will put others in danger in the process.

If they can get your plate that's all they need to storm your house the next day and drag you away in cuffs assuming the vehicle is yours.

These days left leaning prosecutors and judges don't even treat crimes like car theft seriously though. When prosecutors and judges give such soft sentences, crimes like this are going to skyrocket.

Per this video, they only get scared at the black trucks (the feds) and are basically bleep the police, because of course the legal system gives no real punishment, especially for minors. Pavlonian conditioning. Reward bad behavior and society goes into the sewer.

Obama started with the "police are bad" mantra over a decade ago. It's only grown since then.

Cops cannot do their job .... they could end up in court sitting in the hot seat and being judged as the bad guy these days.
