They need to start making examples out of these suicide by cop seekers who go into elementary schools to kill little kids. Once all the bad guys start to see the school and officials will kill them before they achieve their goals, they might think twice.

Not giving wall-2-wall news coverage would be more effective. Some of these people are prepared to be killed in the process (eg columbine, sandy hook). The only way to deter them is not giving any ideas in their head, or making them think they will get their 15 minutes of fame doing something so heinous.

Keep school shootings local. Like a local murder. No reason for national news coverage.
