A few things that attract migrants to Australia are the country’s low costs of healthcare, its lack of inheritance tax, and its generally prosperous economy.

It's fascinating to see where the elites are migrating too. Thanks for posting the image! Now we know where to tell China to target the nukes. What a shameful statement for a capitalist to make! Wealth and resource concentration is a natural result of any system of government including marxist ones... it's all in who gets that money. I'm no communist, but when wealth concentrates too much, problems occur, in part because these wealthy people buy out the politicians... that is the main reason. Alternate reasons include them buying up all the assets (land, real estate, etc) which also causes problems, and as we can see, no leader among the swamp in any country is really doing anything to stop this concentration of wealth... it seems to be part of their great reset ambitions.... you will own nothing and be happy.

To tell you the truth, I don't see why anyone would want to come to our banana republic right now.

The UK is seeing a lot of dodgy Russians and others leave, although with the equivalent of 2.5 million dollar millionaires a record 177 billionaires (up six from 2021), according to the new Sunday Times Rich List, the UK is hardly short of wealthy people.

Sanctions and tougher regulations with regard to money laundering and the introduction of unexplained wealth orders may have a lot to do with this, and it's about time we had a good clean out.

I can't say I will miss many of those who are trying to escape in order to evade new legislation.

Places like Cyprus and Malta have always attracted certain individuals sue to their laws, and I a sure that the UAE will also attract them.

As for Australia, it has a significant Chinese community, and is probably the destination of choice in relation to HNWIs leaving Hong Kong, China and other parts of the Far East.

Couple comments:

1) These are millionaires, not billionaires. As such, cost of living will be a major determinant as a few million won't go that far on the west coast.

2) The US had a surge but that made things really pricey, so other, cheaper options have become more attractive.

Have you ever lived anywhere besides USA as a working adult trying to make a living and raise a family?

If not, that would be the answer to your question.

Third world?

Suspect you have never visited a Third World country.

No wall is high enough nor patrols deep enough to prevent illegal immigration so long as US businesses (mostly small businesses) and people can continue to economically engage undocumented people without consequence.

Some states mandate eVerify and designed the law with huge intentional loopholes and generally don’t fund audits. Trump opposed a mandatory national eVerify law and claimed it would be a burden to business. I have used eVerify. It takes seconds- hardly a burden.

Politicians know who butters their bread.

Florida has the third highest number of undocumented people, after California and Texas. . This is quite remarkable given Florida does not share a border with another country. That the state’s economy is dominated by tourism/ hospitality, agriculture and construction likely is the attraction.

All the Biden Admin had to do was hold the line imposed by the Trump Admin, after the 2019 surge. For crying out loud, call in Reservists, when necessary.

Like many countries, the US grants green cards/ permanent lawful residency to immigrants and families able to make commercial investments and create or preserve at least 10 full time jobs. The EB-5 Visa ( 1990) is routinely used to attract incremental capital. Some may recall the Kushner family was promoting the visa as it sought investment in China for their real estate holdings.that it was the Kushner family made it news.

Billionaires, not millionaires, are the target.
