In a 5-4 Decision the Supreme Court says that Biden can end the "Remain in Mexico" Policy.

Supreme Court says Biden can end Trump-era ‘Remain in Mexico’ immigration policy

Quote:
The Supreme Court on Thursday gave President Joe Biden the green light to end the controversial “Remain in Mexico” immigration policy that originated under the Trump administration.

Since the beginning of his administration, Biden has tried to wind down the policy, which sends certain non-Mexican citizens who entered the US back to Mexico – instead of detaining them or releasing them into the United States – while their immigration proceedings played out.

The ruling was 5-4, and states that immigration law gives the federal government the discretion to end the program, formally known as Migrant Protection Protocols.
Thougts?

Declare it illegal immigrant season, and sell hunting permits?

Eventually, at some point, the border will need to be secured by wall or by firepower.

I kind of have to laugh. Conservatives thought they finally won when they got these people on the Supreme Court, looks like they didn't. Oh they'll overturn abortion but allow illegals to stream over the border. After all both dems and repubs don't care about people or the country only about power and money. Too bad. When are we going to realize voting is not going to change anything you have to save yourself no ones going to do that for you. This country is a joke and has been for a long time.

Republicans actually want more illegals because they know once the illegals start earning more money and get citizenship from dems they'll all vote republican. So this "ruling" comes as no surprise to me. I don't understand how we as a country can coddle and tolerate illegal immigration at the expense of American citizens. Sad.

I blame the Republican Party for this. From January 2017 to January 2019, they had control of the House of Representatives, the Senate, and the Presidency, yet, they did nothing to codify strict illegal immigration laws... You can thank Speaker Ryan and Senate Majority Leader McConnell...

The last major piece of legislation was Immigration Reform Act of 1986, this county needs to stop ruling by executive orders and instead pass legislation to address amnesty and overall immigration issues.

I think we need to completely halt illegal immigration and lower the amount of legal immigration. I think this country is full and at this point immigration is only taking away opportunities from native born Americans. And h1b visas should be limited not used for importing cheap labor. That's my take. Sick of the gas lighting in regards to immigration. You can have a perfectly reasonable stance against immigration but some people will accuse you of hating immigrants or being xenophobic. Enough is enough!!

What’s the point of strict immigration law if the executive branch (aka the President) doesn’t want to enforce it?

You honestly don’t think there are “codify” immigration law under Title 18?
