Poll: Just 18% of Americans say Biden should run for reelection in 2024 — a new low

Andrew Romano·West Coast Correspondent
Yahoo News
Wed, July 13, 2022

Just 18% of Americans say President Biden should run for reelection in 2024, according to the latest Yahoo News/YouGov poll — the lowest number to date. Nearly two-thirds (64%) say he should bow out.

And for the first time, more Democrats now say Biden should pass on a second term (41%) than say he should pursue one (35%).

The survey of 1,672 U.S. adults, which was conducted from July 8 to July 11, represents perhaps the starkest evidence to date of the president’s deteriorating position with voters — including those in his own party. Since late May, the number of Americans who say Biden should run for reelection has fallen by 7 points; among Democrats, that number has fallen by 8 points.

My question to our Biden cheerleaders out there, are you still part of the 18%, or have you finally woken up to the epic failure of Bidenomics (inflation at 9.1%!!) and all the other failed foreign and domestic policies?

The Biden administration has been one dumpster fire after another. Regardless of political party affiliation I cannot imagine how any objective, intelligent and rational thinking American would want Biden to run for a second term.

I'm not sure where you are getting your information from... Biden says 250% of Americans are begging him to run on a daily basis. They are standing outside chanting "Go Joe Go!" from sun up to sun down I am being told. Parents are lining up their daughters to have their scalps sniffed by the quicker sniffer upper himself. The big guy smiles for all the democrats have done to empower this family...

The dumpster fire of an administration is simply just that, an administration that will continue with the same damaging policies regardless of who the puppet extruding the talking points is.

Biden is senile and Kamala's IQ appears to be around 90 or so. Who really runs the country most of the time though? It's clearly not the president in this administration. Nor would it be the vice president.

If he runs they will need to manufacture 90 million votes for him this time.

I am completely fascinated by how this could turn into an unprecedented (at least in 50+ years) serious challenge of an incumbent president by their own party.

If you thought that primaries in 2016 and 2020 got dirty with all kinds of allegations of racism, mysoginy etc. this could get nuts with all kinds of promises and buy-offs within the DNC.

I really just don't know if the D's have someone strong enough to be able to fight against all the imbedded cronyism and behind the scenes backstabbing that will target other candidates.

Susan Rice is probably running a lot of it behind the scenes.

The democrat party made a deal with the devil by giving hope to the extreme/radical progressive wing of their party. The once moderate party has now been overtaken by the progressives, so the mainstream candidates must pander to people like the Squad. AOC could primary Chuck Schumer to get in the Senate. Schumer must go full on Clown Show Moron to pander to these people, or else he's gone. That's how a party gets dragged to the far left.
