"There is now a 50-50 split in the Senate which means the new Vice President will be able to break any possible ties as she will have the casting vote.
The Vice President also serves as president of the Senate. Which makes it 51 dems to to repubs.

What about this:

"With a majority in the House of Representatives and Vice President Kamala Harris holding the tie-breaking vote in the Senate, Democrats could, in theory, pass their legislative priorities without Republican support.
But not while the Senate filibuster rule stands in their way.
While legislation dealing with the budget can go through the reconciliation process and pass without GOP support, as was done with the American Rescue Plan in March, the Senate requires 60 votes for "cloture" -- to end debate on a piece of legislation so it can proceed to a final vote, which then, in most cases, requires a simple majority to pass.
In short, without 60 Senate votes, a piece of legislation doesn't even have a chance of being voted upon."

Dennis Butler, 37, was killed Wednesday night after he pulled out the rifle and began shooting at dozens of people attending the birthday-graduation party outside an apartment complex in Charleston, police said in a statement.
The woman, who was attending the party, drew a pistol and fired, killing Butler, the statement said. No one at the party was injured."

Note usa today did NOT mention ANYTHING about the shooter.

"UPDATE: This is 37-year-old Dennis Butler, the man that opened fire at a graduation party last night. He has an extensive criminal record that includes charges of DUI, domestic battery, among others"

"While the media did cover the story, it didn’t get much attention because it does not fit the leftist narrative. ‘Legal gun owner shoots and kills would-be black mass shooter’ is not the type of headline they prefer. Therefore, it didn’t get 24/7 coverage from the leftist infotainment sector nor the usual reams of op-eds and propaganda appearances intended to spark widespread outrage, rioting, burning, looting, and murder."

The bolded is just ridiculous. If it were that, then Fox news would be spending 40 minutes of an hours news show on it, like all the media outlets do for cases like Highland Park. How much time was devoted to this story on conservative outlets? Was it even close to how much time was spent covering Highland Park or Uvalde?

This story wasn't even covered at all until pro-gun proponents posted it on FB.

Are you really trying to claim only left leaning news sites gave Highland Park and Uvalde extensive coverage?

And I keep asking…why?
What is the reason?
The left have cornered the market on everything. They are in complete control(I know oxymoron) but wasn’t that the whole gripe in the Trump era? But Trump? Well now they got their man in the WH, and they’re still not happy?

How many Garands were ever in circulation? Ummm...tens of millions. Sadly they are pretty scarce now. Used to be they were readily available through the CMP. Along with 03s M1 Carbines and 1911A1s. Those days are gone forever me is afeared. The AR has taken over the slot the Garand used to occupy. Charles Whitman could have gotten his hands on a Garand as easily as he could have the Rem700 he used.

The Garand and the bolt action 03 were the most numerous former military rifles in civilian hands for quite some time. Returning soldiers and Marines took their service rifles home with them quite often after WW2 and Korea. Garands and M1 Carbines as well as 1911A1s. And no mass shootings done with a one of them.

It looks like there were between 5.5 and 6.25 million M1 Garands manufactured. I agree, I'm not aware of any mass shootings with these rifles.

Filibuster. SCOTUS.

Your failure to comprehend this demonstrates your ignorance.

The left dem AG's let them out

"Because Republicans block gun control"

MOST of these incidents happen in DEM CONTROLLED areas with the STRICTEST GUN LAWS IN THE NATION!.

And what anti-gun law would you like to pass that does NOT violate the 2 amendment?

"any measures to alleviate poverty"

Again most poverty is in DEM RUN STATES.

And again, show us anywhere in the Constitution where is say the fed is responsible for poverty.

If these people, at the least, get a high school diploma , they would have better chance.
