That will happen everywhere as energy becomes more expensive. Summer may be the best time for it, with more time to adapt before long winter nights. Industrialized nations will relearn how to live on daily budgets of sunlight.

I beg to differ, we in the US(at least 80 million of them) welcomed all that with open arms. Not like Biden and the Dems have not been clear for years in the desire to destroy the fossil fuel industry. So no we did not bend over we puckered up and gave it a big old kiss. And really what have you French given us lately, the last time you really showed you cared you gave us this big old statue and nothing since.....Not even a phone call

This article says public lights (street lights and outside building lights) will be turned out in locations where they are not useful. That doesn't necessarily mean that all street and outer building lights will be turned off, just some. So this is really not such a big deal.

Exactly, France has long relied on nuclear power for its energy generation. The US should do the same.

That's equal to a big increase of crimes in France. I am sure Democrats in office will adopt samething to help to complete their agenda in America for our destruction. Communism at its best.

This would be an example of someone who has no idea what they are talking about stating something as fact when it isn't. I'd estimate maybe 5% wear masks on public transportation in France, even less than that in stores and hardly anyone outside. We've starting wearing them on the subway just this week since we have a trip to Italy coming up and don't want to miss the flight due to covid, but usually never wear them same as everyone else.

These aren't mutually exclusive.

OK. Wearing a mask is not considered abnormal. Feel better?

Talk about being left in the dark.

From what I've read, all of Europe is suffering.

Germany in particular. They are talking about subsisting on cold showers as soon as September in order to preserve gas.

It's a good thing "President" McMumble-Snores lifted Trump's sanctions on the Nordstream pipeline from Russia. Now Putin has energy hegemony over Western Europe.
