The new rule mentions both protecting the life and health of the mother. I guess the term health does seem vague and could be interpreted as applying to mental health.

Either way, I support abortion rights up to 12 weeks, which is about the max that most miscarriages can happen.

So Texas is suing for the right to let women die? So much for being "pro-life"...

What next Texas? Are you going to sue because someone might force you to fix your electrical grid or have fair voting policies?

There's a certain irony here.

Texas allows an abortion to occur at any point in a pregnancy if the mother's life is at risk. In fact, every single state has an exception if the life of the mother is at risk. This is more overreach from the Biden administration.

So the federal government wants to force abortions?
What happened to a mother's health decisions being between herself and her doctor?
This federal intrusion is nothing more than a PR ploy by the biden administration.
Democrats have gone cuckoo over the politics of abortion

It doesn’t enforce abortion; it allows for it relative to a medical emergency without the physician having to wait for the condition to deteriorate (and feeling as though his hands are tied until the last-minute). The Administration simply reminded Texas of the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act i.e. appropriate medical screening, stabilizing treatment and so on i.e. it is federally applicable regardless of any state laws or mandates regarding abortion.

But, Texas already has a law that states an abortion is acceptable if it is necessary to save the life of the mother. In fact, all fifty state have this.

The only reason the Biden Administration did this was to "appear" like they "did" something, even though Texas law allowed for this...

So then why is Texas suing? To “appear” like they “did” something back?

To stop federal government overreach. The Supreme Court ruled that the issue of abortion is a state issue.
