He broke the back of Carter's stagflation where we had 8% unemployment and 18% inflation (something Biden seems to be trying to top). He set the stage for a long period of sustained growth and low inflation (something Biden is ending). He started us on a road for energy independence. He won the Cold War. He brought morning to America again and restored our confidence after Vietnam, Watergate and Jimmy's world of limits and sweaters.

free-trade was first suggested by Brzezinski back under Carter, Brzezinski also mentored Bush1, clinton, cheney, and Obama

Reagan understood that you CAN NOT have true free-trade, if the playing field is not equal...ie wages, cost of living, etc....something the globalist-liberals don't understand

Reagan is known for amnesty.

Reagan is known for one amnesty, in which the democrats lied about

the first amnesty was 1965

the next 6 were under Clinton
In 1994, Ted Kennedy’s Section 245(i) Amnesty gave legal residence and jobs to 578,000 illegal aliens. It was a temporary rolling amnesty primarily for extended family members of immigrants who instead of waiting in line, come on to the country illegally.

In 1997, Ted Kennedy’s extension of the Section 245(i) rolling amnesty was followed by an increasing flow of illegal immigration.

In 1997, Ted Kennedy also won an amnesty for close to one million illegal aliens from Central America. Illegal immigration sped up some more.

In 1998, TedKennedy won an amnesty for 125,000 illegal aliens from Haiti.

In 2000, Ted Kennedy got the so-called Late Amnesty, legalizing another 400,000 illegal aliens who claimed that they missed out on Kennedy’s 1986 amnesty.

In 2000, Ted Kennedy also won the LIFE Act Amnesty for an estimated 900,000 illegal aliens. It was another reinstatement of the rolling Section 245(i) amnesty...an estimated 900,000 illegal aliens. Illegal immigration accelerated.

ALL of them authored by Ted Kennedy

I had three paragraphs on Reagan and all you can comment on is one sentence?

As the nation's attention turns back to the fractured debate over immigration, it might be helpful to remember that in 1986, Ronald Reagan signed a sweeping immigration reform bill into law... There would be tighter security at the Mexican border, and employers would face strict penalties for hiring undocumented workers. But the bill also made any immigrant who'd entered the country before 1982 eligible for amnesty -- a word not usually associated with the father of modern conservatism.

NAFTA was Reagan's brain child.

The concept of free trade goes back further than that to Cordell Hull and beyond.

Republicans have long been champions of free trade. And Democrats were dragged to the right to join them starting with Clinton.

Reagan really got trade going with China after Nixon. George H.W. Bush went from being our second envoy to China to and set the stage for our relationship with them now. He was very much a globalist.

The U.S.-China Relations Legacy of President George H. W. Bush

Trump's criticism of free trade was him falling back to his Democrat side. Not that he did anything of substance about it.

Yeah, "trickle up" would be the lowest of society, drug addicts and Thugs starting businesses and having the rich invest in their causes.

On Reagan's watch, the CIA smuggled drugs into the US. They also helped overthrow the democratically elected governments in Guatemala and Honduras and propped up the dictator in El Salvador. Because of this over 100,000 Mayans were murdered.

Iran-Contra was a terrible scandal. North and Poindexter managed to skate, however.

And he lived to regret it. He was assured that our border would be secured and e-verify mandated. Neither happened.
