Depends. I grew up in the suburbs and exurban areas. One major problem I had was the lack of walkable places.Of course some suburbs do better than others.

I've been to some high crime suburbs, so it depends.

I currently live in a city. I hate driving. I don't like having to watch out for other cars or other people's nonsense. I drive because I have to. The public transportation system is unreliable and not very nice.

I don't view having a car as freedom. I view it as a means to an end. It's also a money pit to me. I have a car because it's necessary.

If you get off social media and forums the world actually seems fine. I'm convinced social media is the problem. It creates the polarizing echo chambers.

That and QE and the pumptards of course. The same ones who criticize welfare recipients but want to see their asset prices pumped up with stimulus to pad their net worth. Free stuff mentality has caused the supply chain problems.

The left thinking the covid measures were necessary not willing to admit they were wrong on the issue and that the collateral damage was worse in the end from the lockdowns, and that surprise surprise, the economy does matter, that doesn't help things either. What do you think caused this inflation? QE plus supply chain problems.

Now we have the elites saying that supply shortages might be the new norm, and the days of easy availability of things like vehicles might be a thing of the past... seems like they just want it to be that way because they want 90% of the planet to be barely subsisting while they are flying around in private jets... but again, it's social media that gives me this perception.

Trying to break free of the social media addiction. The stretches I go without it are some of the best of my life, but it's like a drug... gotta break the addiction.

Have you ever thought about why people live in cities?

There’s a reason President Coolidge called this kind of thing a “market for blood and tears†and pushed heavy tariffs on those who operated such, stating “We are unwilling to profit by the distress of foreign people. We do not want their blood money.

Nice comment in the comments section of the video. Those principles are out the window now as all the products lefties worship like iphones and teslas are made with "blood money."

Not to mention all their favorite sex toys they can't live without. Probably made by little children and/or slaves. Wrong on so many levels...

Reaganomics led to the most prosperous decade in the U.S. since WWII. And, no, not just "the rich" benefitted. Average family income grew during the 1980s. Low unemployment and interest rates by his 2nd term.

We are loosing to China in almost every regard. There manufacturing is booming, our is dwindling. They are making deals with foreign countries all over the globe and taking away some of what was former U.S trade partners, in Africa , south and central America, in the Caribbean, as well as Europe and parts of Asia.

China has expanded their military relentlessly, they are now the top auto producer in the world, they are making deals for mining rights like lithium , they are even buying up U.S land om mainland America.

And Americans?, self absorbed in a culture war one faction wanting socialism the other not so much, spending away for illegal immigrants with a open border, more concerned about pronouns and race than anything else, ready to implode our economy even more for the sake of climate change, with 20% to 30% Americans saying the constitution is no longer relevant and 1 in 5 saying violence is justified against a political opponent .

Standards for education being dropped, and educators more interested in indoctrinating CRT and leftist agendas and teaching "social justice" rather than constitutional law.

We can't compete with China on how they are expanding, we are a nation at war with itself. A nation with irreconcilable differences just isn't going to continue to co-exist let alone come together to stand up to a foreign entity.

We spent 20 years in Afghanistan, what do we have to show for it other than getting Bin Ladin? China now went in and is making deals for precious minerals and mining rights, they don't care who the Taliban are, they don't care about pushing LGBTQ or women rights in Afghanistan, without firing a shot or loosing a soldier China is marching and sailing around the world taking over.

What is America doing? spending trillions and countless lives in wars with nothing to show for it, self hating the country on horrible it on how supposedly it treats people like with race, consumed with banning a Dr Suess book for a picture that paints Chinese in a racist light supposedly, with a vice president who spends the first 5 minutes announcing her pronouns and what color she is. Releasing criminals because it is racist to arrest them, that has created crime waves across the country and a nation that allows people like Soros to fund that.

Meanwhile China unleashed a virus that has devastated this nation morally and economically . a good portion of Americans wanting to ban you off twitter saying that because it is "racist" against Asian Chinese to say that, and China ultimately benefited from COVID against other nations in the long stretch. WHO was caught covering for the Chinese and the first thing Biden does is join WHO again no demands or questions asked because the American people, half of them anyway are more concerned about other countries than their own.

I don't think America can turn around from this anymore, the best that can happen is slow down the decay for a while but that's it.
.
America is done.

Too many of the politicians sold out to China and the press is in bed with them.

And it's 'losing'. Not 'loosing'.

And just FYI, I don't put 100% of this on the Democrats. The GOP is complicit, too, as evidenced by the infrastructure and chips bills.

We are headed into an economic downturn every bit as bad, if not worse, than 2008. Why? Because we are in a recession already and the administration won't even admit to it, let alone fix it. They are doubling down on all the policies that caused it in the first place.

I will check back with you in a year when the unemployment rate is in the double digits.

China is a fraud. Almost nothing they claim is true.
They inflated GDP numbers by including real estate which was under construction. So there are over 50 cities which are partially complete, but no one lives there. No one ever will, so mortgage holders have now begun to refuse to pay their mortgage. In China, you have to pay when the deal is signed, not when you take possession.
They are sitting on a 7 Trillion dollar debt bubble.

China makes wonderful plans and artists concepts, but in the end they have to steal technology to make it work.

China will lose 50% of its population in about 50 years.
