Then you've clearly never given any thought to how absolute their power is and how absolutely corrupt and terrible that makes them.
Fear, by the way, is nature's primary survival mechanism. My fear guards my survival and keeps me safe. A healthy fear of the IRS keeps me off their radar and safe from them realizing the horrific potential of their nearly unlimited power.
No person or group more embodies the great and terrible power of tyranny like the IRS.
Watching sycophants defend them as proper and necessary...it's unsettling...
I never had to fear the IRS in order to fill out my tax forms correctly. Maybe your financial life is more complicated and thus hard to keep track of.
Whatever, the IRS rules for most of us are pretty clear and easy to follow.
All 87,000 hired will be Libs, from Lib colleges and they will be weponized against the rest of us who are not Uber Leftists.
Pretty much like the rest of the DC swamp has been...FBI, DOJ, EPA, DOE, ect..
When the Pubs regain control they must TOTALLY clean house in DC....every one of the swamp creatures must go find real jobs in the private sector.
Trump made a 'Uge mistake not doing that last time around.
Trump is the one who gutted the IRS staff (and other agencies) to the point where some of them cannot function properly. That is a Republican scheme, you know... reduce the staff and then claim the agency cannot do the job so then lobby to close it down.

You beat me to the punch. Agency weaponization.
90% or so tax on pharmaceutical companies who don’t agree to the govt medicine prices. How is that cost NOT passed off to taxpayers, either by tax increases in some form and non availability of drugs/medicine?
Have you seen all the taxes on natural gas, coal, etc?
How about that nice little tax on stock trades in your 401k?
Disgusting.
Yep, grow the serf class. These A holes in congress are no better than Russian and Chinese thug governments. I’d love to vote every damn one of them out on BOTH sides of the aisle. And what do you want to bet ther3 will e some sort of mid term drama we’re just supposed to close our eyes to?

So 80billion for the IRS…………but not a dime for new VA hospitals for veterans. I live just outside of Houston texas…..There is ONE veterans hospital here to handle a population of nearly 8 million. Any wonder there are millions of very bitter veterans?

Accountants are not known for being liberal no matter what college they went to lol.
Very few of these agents will be in the DC swamp. They will be in field offices around the country and to the extent IRS is able to hire locally, they will reflect the demographics of the place they are hired.
oh yeah, the bennies are just so wonderful....only thing is the one extra paid holiday when they added juneteenth.
just for perspective....the previous (GOP supported) commish just wanted $25B and most of that was to do the rust replace on the hardware and networks etc.
the point I am making is, they will higher (GS11 (starting at 67k) or GS12 (starting at 80k) base salary .... then they pay 3/4 of health insurance...matching TSP (401k)..life insurance, pension, etc
when you add all the pennies you are talking about 100k per person...87,000 of them....so you are talking OVER 8 billion annually in NEW GOVERNMENT SPENDING
Somebody must already be at the IRS to nag people over trivia. DH has spent several hours on the phone with an IRS person in a pissing contest over 40 bucks. They say it is resolved and the next month it's the same thing. IIRC, it went on for 4 months. Had to cost the IRS hundreds to get the book keeping corrected on 40 bucks.

Low income people on public assistance or really low paying jobs won't be affected by this. Its the mid 5 figure to low 6 figure people who might have a more complicated tax filing that very low income people and will be subject to the IRS looking at them. Wealthy people have tax lawyers and well paid accountants who will shield them from any trouble.
Right.
The Democrats are targeting the middle class, like they always do. Yet some middle class morons continue to vote Democrat.
