Firearms manufacturer Smith & Wesson just sent a letter the a congressional committee that was trying to blame them for rising crime rates across the country.

It's about time somebody pointed this out to them. See attached, or click the link above.

Nice try, but, just like the laws it rails against, it won't have any real effect with those who need to heed it'w words the most.
We currently are in a culture steeped and invested in the "we gotta do something, anything" mentality and the weapons used to commit crime are the easiest targets. Focusing on anything else requires self reflection, a commitment to the long game, and placing the achievement of goals above peoples personal feelings. IOW, it aint gonna happen.
That is a good letter that will be glossed over and set aside by those that should be reading it, understanding it and tested on its contents because it should be common sense but then again common sense in our elected elite is not so common.
It really is dumb how the Left wants to blame an inanimate object such as a gun for the rising crime rates.
Then again the survivors of the Sandy Hook shooting successfully sued Remington, the maker of the AR15 style rifle that was used in the shooting for $73 Million dollars. The hook that got them was their advertising that the lawyers claimed inspired the deranged murderers to kill. I think the owners of sports cars that crash when racing through the streets should remember this lawsuit because so many of those sports cars have ads where the cars are seen drifting and speeding through city streets. The Advertisement made me do it like Superman made me jump of the garage roof because I thought I could fly like him... That is pretty weak.
There will come a time when guns and ammo are priced out of the average citizens reach plus the red tape to own one, the rules to store one, carry one and actually shoot it somewhere will become so over burdensome that many will give them up. Of course the Criminals will and the Left will continue to ignore that issue.

For the last year and a half, normal people have seen the results of the "we gotta do something, anything" culture, and are getting more and more chance to see how poorly the programs work.
The politicians who do this are running out of chances. And there's an election coming.

Easiest way to "vote" in favor of Smith & Wesson, any other gun manufacturer, and your natural individual rights all at once - buy a gun, buy ammunition, go to a local gun range and become proficient with the weapon, learn all the self defense laws, read the Constitution.
Don't wait for someone to tell you. Don't ask permission. Don't waste time in polling places doing literally the biggest waste of your time ever where your rights are concerned. Nope. Spend the time, effort and yes money to acquire a gun and ammunition, then the skills and knowledge. Vote specifically for your individual rights in the simplest, most effective and efficient way possible.
Always remember, every time you buy a gun, ammunition, or spend time on the range, somewhere a politician starts crying. Make them sob like little kids throwing tantrums.

The Constitution never says the purpose of the amendment is for the people to proyect themselves an their families. To imply that was the funders' intent is a complete and outright lie, with not a shred of basis. None. The founders did imply a reason, a well-regulated militia, but S&W and others reject that out of hand. Instead, they make up an imaginary reason that suits their shareholders' interest, which is a complete lie, and doesn't match anything, even a vague implication, in the Constitution or anywhere else.
S&W is implying that the founders intended to encourage vigilante justice.

Why would the founders and the constitution have to state the obvious? A person's instinct and the first priority in life is to protect one's family. And, you need to use your spell check.
