Her turning on Trump really doesn’t make much sense to me, no reason for it.
What I think happened is that she miscalculated Trump’s demise. She thought he was going to be done politically after Jan 6th, and started making statements that went too far to walk back when it was apparent Trump was going to survive politically.
She also keeps alluding to herself as Lincoln, and doing the right thing even if it means losing an election, which is complete nonsense.
Cheney is old line Republican Establishment. Think of who else has been anti-Trump from the very beginning. Every single one is part of the Establishment. From George Conway to the Bush family to famous "maverick" John McCain to Liz Cheney.
How many Establishment Republicans did Trump beat in 2016? Fifteen, maybe?
That's what it comes down to and what so very many don't understand why Trump has the people who vote for him doing so. They're fed up with the Establishment, of both Parties, that promises to work for them but still approve treaties and agreements that have destroyed millions of jobs over the last three or four decades (and if the truth is really told that began in the late 1940s with the Marshall Plan in Europe and similar programs in Europe).
The New York "movers and shakers" class despised Trump, too. He didn't play their game of fundraising and philanthropy to make themselves feel better.

The Truth that Democrats have to use lies about Trump to beat him, such as the Hillary provided Steel Dossier, her FBI insiders Strzok and Page, Pee Gate. The Maga hat wearers attacking Jussie Smollet. If Dems didn't support lies about Trump he could have easily been defeated, but you all had jump on every lie put out there by the Press.
As we see, everything Democrats do to try to defeat Trump only makes him stronger.
