Each party will have at least 49 Senators; each will have at least 214 House members.

Nothing will get passed.

If we could simply get a Constitutional Amendment mandating such gridlock permanently, 98% of the reckless stuff, like the failed 2021 stimulus, would be impossible to ever pass again.

I agree. I don't want either party to have control of both Congress and the Presidency. For some reason, politicians think that simply winning an election - even by the slimmest of margins - is a mandate for their entire agenda, completely disregarding the wishes of half of the country. Gridlock prevents runaway stupidity. Over the last week or so, I've been pondering exactly what you proposed. Perhaps a Constitutional amendment stating that 1 party can't hold both Congress and the Presidency.

Nothing getting passed would be much preferable to the current clown show that the dems are hosting.

The Senate was evenly split before and Kamala voted.

She voted 26 times in the Senate...now #3 in history.
John Calhoun holds #1 place with 31 so Kamala could make #1 in no time.

Yes, very pleased with the election results on a national level. Gridlock is wonderful.

Of course my state is hopeless.

We've been stagnating for the 3 decades I've been alive, so sure why not.
China already passed us, and India will be hot on our heels by the end of the decade. On the bright side we'll be solidly #3 for awhile since #4 is far behind.

Yeah,..put the brakes on them.

People have been trying to make Big Daddy do everything for them and make the entire Country do the same.

Knock it back to a local level where you deal with the people next to you, spare the rest of the States,..lol.

We live in a purple country.

Whether either the red or blue side likes it or not.

Dems could end up in control as before the Election.
It ain't over until the last Ballot box mysteriously appears.

Yes, that is the ideal situation, no one has too much power, and it has been that way many years during my voting life. I can only remember 2009-11 when Obama had Democrat majorities in the House and Senate. If not for the filibuster he could have done whatever he wanted, but then there were 4 months when the Senate was filibuster-proof and he was able to pass the extreme Obamacare law.
