NYP is the rag that originally ran with Rudy Colludy's story when real news outlets wouldn't touch it because they knew it was garbage.
All media has stayed the course. Status quo maintained. It's still garbage. If that story had had any provable truth to it it would have held the news cycle for weeks.
If you do a search, I read a NYT article that says it is authentic. It talks about how the fbi authenticated thousands of emails on it and are possibly going to use it in a case against Hunter.

The Russians have planted misinformation prior to elections in the past, it's not unimaginable based on history. Social media needs to be careful in addressing, in this case Twitter went to far but Facebook found a happy medium. Twitter's ban gave the laptop story more publicity than the right wing could have ever hoped in their wildest dreams. Best way to get someone to read an article is to ban it.
The FBI doesn't dictate to the media which stories to run, it's up to journalists to use their judgement.
As I said, it would be interesting to find out how specific the FBI was in their communication, and when they said it. Basically, I would like to see the statement by the FBI, not Zuckerberg playing down what happened to protect Facebook.
The Hunter Biden laptop story was quite unusual don't you think? Especially since it was real and the FBI knew it was real. Didn't the Democrats blame James Comey for Hillary Clinton losing the election in 2016?
Right out of Zuckerbergs mouth on Joe Rogan podcast. FBI told Facebook to censor Hunter Bidens Laptop during election. This is shocking and needs an investigation, possible disbanding the FBI.
The FBI is not issuing these warnings so Zuckie has any kind of great choice. Like the mob boss example I gave. It's a threat, just of course not explicitly worded as one.
FBI has no business communicating whats disinformation/misinformation to any private corp. NONE.
