77 of America's 88 largest cities had negative population trends from 2020 to 2021:

https://www.brookings.edu/research/b...-the-pandemic/

This is been happening since 2012, but covid, and work-from-home, has put this 10 yr old trend on steriods.

The USA has 88 cities with populations of 250,000+, & almost all of them are seeing negative population trends, especially in domestic migration losses.

Even suburbia, surrounding these big cities, are trending downward...just not as pronounced as the big cities themselves.

Big cities are the core of the radical uber leftists power, & now they are shrinking faster than ever.

Why Americans are leaving big cities, and who are leaving, are the next logical questions to ask.

Brookings is using US Censis data, which has recently been proven to be overcounting in these larger cities, so the outbound flow is even worse than shown here.

These demographic trends are very bad for the radical uber leftists...lost people = lost votes = lost taxes

CA, the LA basin has seen large amount of middle class leave.

Local talk radio is always on about it. They frequently site uhaul rentals. They talk about how many uhauls are outbound as opposed to inbound.

Im a native. I've got an 86 yr old MIL that lives here. We probably would have left if we could have. When she passes on well probably give the idea of moving some real consideration.

10 of the top 15 MSAs lost population, not just the central cities. And half of the top 50 lost population. That is almost unprecedented.

Only DFW, Houston, Atlanta, Phoenix and Riverside didn't lose among the top 15.

Atlanta being on this list is laughable.

Fulton county has gained 146K new residents in the last 10 years, Dekalb has gained about 80K, the city of Atlanta city limits and the Dekalb county line are literally the same thing.

so atlanta within the city shrinking by -.06%, but unincorporated Fulton County grew by 3%, and each city touching the city of Atlanta grew by 6%, thats not a good argument buddy.

Of course people are leaving the cities. They are expensive and too many people living shoulder to shoulder and now some of those people are sucker punching, robbing, beating and murdering their neighbors like never before thanks to the failed Liberal policies of the Dems.

There was also of course the pandemic that shut down so many things like restaurants, clubs, theaters, museums and most other places where people gathered and it left many people to wonder why they are even bothering living in the city.

What is going to happen to the cities in another 10 years when the states they are located mandate EV's only. It is already a nightmare to find parking in a city with the well to do paying top dollar for a spot but now all the street parking spots will need to have a charging station.

Will this cause another mass move to the suburbs?
