The entire Duke team should be banned by the NCAA for the rest of the year. I am sick and tired of the racist crybaby crap. Hold these liars accountable and make a example out of them. This crap calling someone a racist must stop now. This crap happens every day.
I didn't think Duke's statement read that way. It was more of a simple, we stand with our players (of course they didn't stand with their lacrosse team in the rape hoax that was an obvious lie).
I think Richardson was just an anti-Mormon bigot and made it up, but it is possible she actually heard it and nobody else noticed. And it is possible she misinterpreted something she heard and really believes she heard it. So Duke has to "stand with her" unless there is absolute proof she was lying.
Dukes' saying they won't play them later in the season.
It is not possible that she actually heard it and nobody else did and that the 2+ video recordings missed it as well. There were people sitting all around the accused and she was out on the court 50+ feet away.
I mean seriously, you really think someone can just yell the N-word over and over at an event like that and NOBODY at least pulled out their phone? We're well into the realm of fantasy at this juncture.

It's being reported that the fan who was wrongly accused, has had his (attendance) ban lifted.
And a fellow Duke teammate (Barrow) has publicly gone on record w/a NC newspaper and stated she never heard any slurs yelled at the team. There's been no evidence ever supporting Richardson's accusation. And I think it's been thoroughly discredited at this point.

It is not possible she heard something no one else heard. Her godmother lied and she lied, full stop. Everyone knows it. They and the coaches of Duke University should be sued by BYU for slander. What they did could have very negative economic consequences and they should be held accountable for it.
This grift doesn’t stop until there are consequences for lying and smearing people as racists.
There are 330,000,000 people in this country so even if it was true, what difference does it make if there is a douchebag or two running around. It's not like the whole arena was doing it.
If anyone made up false accusations they should be prosecuted and charged. No exceptions. There is no place for that in our society.
The problem is that in certain places it gets really political and people will believe or make excuses for it no matter the evidence.
This gets to the whole "free pass" where the local pols just don't want to hurt their vote chances by enforcing justice. They'll use key words and phrasing about healing, closure or putting things behind.
Madison, WI giving a pass to Althea is literally the poster child of this. She was involved in a BLM arson attempt at a federal bldg. then went to hospital and blamed the "frat boys" with a ridiculous story. Then the police spent hundreds of hours investigating, put together a video montage showing her driving through the entire city unharmed and just closed the case after that.
