When you go to a hospital, or nursing home, what comes to mind: TLC, Tender Loving Care. I remember all too well Nurse's Day, when the Nurse's would all wear We Care buttons on their uniforms. How dare they!!!!

I hold auto mechanic's in higher esteem than nurses, and when you stop to think about it, aren't Auto mechanic's nurse's in a number of ways, tending to the sick, the disabled?

Nurses are well paid. They can choose their hours for the most part. My SIL who is a nurse, is tired of the glorification.

EDIT: Just to clarify, I didn't say 'All nurses' are self important ingrates.
Agreed 100%.
Note that the doctors are still on the clock.

These nurses went on a 3-day strike to make a point. And their main demand isn't higher wages, it's having a say in scheduling, and having a say in patient care. They feel conditions are not safe for their patients and are bringing attention to that.

1. No nurse is making $600,000/ yr.
2. Who is going to replace them?

So 3 days with less nurses, is safer for patients?

This is just grandstanding by a bunch of entitled individuals.

Next time you're in the ER at 2 a.m. and need an IV inserted, or a catheter, or a blood transfusion, call your auto mechanic and see what happens.
