I'm not happy that this women had to be inconvenienced and will have to live the rest of her life with the memory of taking another human being's life, but it's better than the alternative.

Why should the memory be unpleasant for her? She was defending her own life for reasons that weren't of her own making. And besides, her actions rid the world of a piece of scum who made a habit of preying on and causing misery to other people.

That doesn't mean she enjoyed the experience. Killing is something most of us would rather avoid. I assume it's a very traumatic experience and stays with a person for a long time. Perhaps it can cause post traumatic stress disorder and other issues.
I've killed animals for food and even that I find difficult to do, and part of the reason I don't eat much meat anymore.

No one said that she "enjoyed" the experience. It more like a person doing what they HAVE to do. You might call it "doing their duty." I didn't "enjoy" being in the Army, but I'm proud that I served. I did my duty. Same basic idea.
