Xi's policies are good for making a strong China, it's his ridiculous covid policy where he risks losing control of his people. Give the people the vaccines and be done with it. What's the need for all this authoritarian shuffling around of people and locking them in their homes?

Maybe they know something about the covid we don't though... maybe they know it will cause long term systematic body problems from the inflammation. Even if it does, trying to stop outbreaks is futile. The r-naught value of the virus is way too high. You end up destroying your country in the process.

Historically, each communist regime is a miltary coup stablishment itself. There is no other definition or principle for the Marxist Communist ideology in control of power.

Pretty much an internet rumor at the moment.

Good chance it's not even true.

I'll wait and see, most assuredly it would be huge news if it turns out to be true.

I'd say we could try that with Biden to improve things but that was how Biden got in in the first place... a coup.

china version of CDC estimate, if they lose up the covid restriction, about 2 million chinese will die from covid. china has much higher population density, most ppl live in cities similar to NYC. also the policy is from Xi, dont think anyone want to challenge him to change it. alot elder chinese are superstitious, so the vaccine rate in chinese elder is about 40% ish, too low to have herd immunity. the zero covid policy is hurting their economy quite a bit now. however alot chinese see it as govt value their citizen lives over $$$.

What "herd immunity"?

The world has not seen it anywhere for Covid from the vaccination.
