The officer being interviewed states police units were out on calls related to shootings. They didn't have the units available to deal with a sideshow.
It's a given such car madness along with flash mobs robberies are only going to increase.
They probably had one police car for that part of town, not four. My relative who is a retired cop told me a few years back his city of over 200,000 only had one police car available at night and not to tell anyone. They lie.
Wow, a massive amount of drivers racing down the streets with a person run over and the police responded 27 minutes later with a one police response.
The police department said they only had 4 police cars on patrol in the Westside of the city and they were swamped with reports of shots fired and a person calling in a dead body when the mob of the drivers was trying to race into random cars and ran over an innocent person.
Things are spiraling out of control. As long as they keep that stuff in the blue cities and away from middle class areas, it's fine with me. People want to elect soft on crime democrat politicians, this is what you get.
Mad Max at the Thuderdome has become a reality in our once great nation..let them run over each other all night long..don't send any cops until four or five are killed..
The police excused it said during that hour they were responding to many reports of shots fired and a dead body.
The police provided a reason for the slow response, and a valid one at that. There's a difference between a reason and an excuse.
What I'd like to hear is the reason why Dem city leadership let it get to this point. However, all they will have is excuses, because this situation was entirely avoidable had they done their damn jobs and provided the police sufficient resources and support.

A dead body should be the lowest priority. It isn't going anywhere. The police should have been redirected to the active threat.

Nope. Depends on the dead body. If said body is dead as the result of murder, the crime scene must be secured as soon as possible to prevent contamination.
The police have prioritized millions of calls. You, not so much. And it shows.
