Obamacare is a disaster, but I don’t see the issue here, other than NBC trying to make Republicans look like hypocrites, as though Democrats have NEVER changed messaging on various topics.
Democrats won the messaging war on this one; even though we continue to have to pass bills to delay some of the impacts of Obamacare, people seem to like and want Obamacare. So, shouldn’t we instead praise Republicans on trying to align with what they think people want, with regard to this issue?
Yeah they’ve abandon it because now it’s all about the culture wars. Trans kids, CRT, immigrants, replacement theory etc. They have no plan for anything. They just know how to motivate there racist base with these culture wars.
Obama care and its lies were broken from day one. "You can keep your doctor", "you can keep your insurance", it will save your average family $2500 a year", "it's not a tax": Lie, Lie, Lie, and Lie. And they wonder why it's no good
One major reason I originally joined these sorts of political forums was to hear about conservative views and opinions on creating a new US HC insurance system. The Pubs don't have a viable plan. Of course Trump didn't either.
Interesting that the reason that Republican have aabandoned the repeal process is because much of the Act is working for their voters.
"Working" has a really loose definition.
"You can Keep your Doctor", "You can Keep your Plan"... that was a hot one.
"Affordable Care Act"...yea affordable for the people that are getting government(Taxpayer) Paid Subsidies to lower the cost. Subsidies that were supposed to have already ended, but keep getting extended. Let's see how much support ACA has with no subsidies.
But then let's not forget about the "Affordability" with the doubling of premiums, increased CoPays, and having to pay for things that used to be included at no charge.
Now, with that said I agree that until the Republicans can come up with something better to just not toss this out. It is not perfect and has many issues. But at this point repealing it without a new plan would cause more chaos that we don't need right now.
Yet even though the republicans are looking at reality and trying to deal with a situation in a responsible manner, the MSM as per their standard tries to spin this turn this into a negative against the republicans.
