During the vote certification in 2016 there were 7 democratic house members voted against certification in 7 specific states. Since no senators signed onto the objections there was no debate.

Compare that to 2020 where around 14 senators and 140 republicans were prepared to vote against certification

McCarthy, Graham and others were ready to move on after Jan 6, and then it all changed.

Quote:
Five days after the attack on the Capitol last year, the Republican members of the House of Representatives braced for a backlash.

Two-thirds of them — 139 in all — had been voting on Jan. 6, 2021, to dispute the Electoral College count that would seal Donald J. Trump’s defeat just as rioters determined to keep the president in power stormed the chamber. Now one lawmaker after another warned during a conference call that unless Republicans demanded accountability, voters would punish them for inflaming the mob.
''''''''''''''''''''''
When another member implored the party to unite behind a “clarifying message” that Mr. Trump had truly lost, Representative Kevin McCarthy of California, the Republican leader, emphatically agreed: “We have to.”

Team Trump never had an original idea in it's head.

Ironically, through either youthfullness, impaired memory or cognitive dissonance the Far Left forgets that they got many of the ideas from them.

-Fake News (Faux News)
-Diebold stole the election (Now owned by Dominion)
-Illegitimate president (Because the losing team had more yardage but fewer points)
-Bush Oil (actual Senate hearings blaming the president for oil prices via a conspiracy)

...and vice versa. Same clubs, different swingers.

Y'all still think this is (D) vs (R). It's not. It's the People vs corruption. Trump tried to shine a light on the corruption ("drain the swamp") and half of you fought it. You defended the corruption and still do, while claiming that everyone but you is corrupt. Remarkable.

As I just pointed out it is not the same.

I would have hoped that after Jan 6 some of these republicans would have changed their minds, some did only temporarily and then continued on with the conspiracy.

Hilarious. Keep trying, but the stench of desperation is clear.

So the guy who has been in politics for five decades (Biden) isn’t corrupt, but the reality TV star who was never in politics is the “main swamp keeper”.

Your post is a great argument for limiting the right to vote.

Oops, see, there's that vote suppression issue coming up again. tsk tsk You guys really need to knock that off. It's unamerican. Subversive.

He didn't waste any time using gov't resources to support his businesses, forcing the State Dept. to put up international dignitaries in his DC hotel. He learned fast, because he's played fast and loose with his businesses all along. Remember, this is the guy who refused to provide his tax returns to Congress.

If you want me to ever trust election results again, mail in voting must be banned and an ID must be required from ANYONE to vote in person.
