St Louis wants to sue Kia because a defect in car makes them easy to steal.

https://localtoday.news/us/st-louis-...-2-127311.html

But stealing is a CRIME committed by CRIMINALS.. The criminal is the one that voluntarily take someone else's property which is a CRIME.

St Louis and other cities need to be reinforcing the fact that stealing a car is a crime committed criminals. By going forward with the lawsuit they are in effect validating the criminal's behavior by giving them an excuse, a rationalization. The thieves were already ethically and legally challanged. Social media was just another rationalization.

Does St Louis benefit from any sales tax component, if so, Kia/Hyundai should have a one month moratorium on car sales within city limits

Hyundai\Kia already made this change in their 2021 and forward models.

This involves older models that use an actual key instead of a FOB.

That being said, those are less expensive vehicles that didn't have a ton of bells and whistles.

I know it's not feasible - but I wish Kia cut just shut down operations in St. Louis until they come to their senses.

This. Suing a third party is nothing but shifting responsibility from the perps. Stealing cars is a CRIME committed by CRIMINALs.

If the perps want to claim the tik tok defense they also should be prosecuted for stupidity and ignorance.

I’m not sure how not having an immobilizer is a defect.

The left always, always always blames someone else except the person/people who are actually to blame.

Kia doesn't have operations in St. Louis. They have Kia dealerships though. So are you saying the dealerships should just stop selling Kias until...they come to their senses...and WHO should come to their senses? I don't get it.
