On Wednesday State Department spokesman Ned Price refused to confirm reports the Biden administration had begged the Saudis to wait.

So how does that mitigate GLOBAL climate change? The Saudi Foreign Ministry can try to spin or deflect, but the facts are simple,” John Kirby, the White House coordinator for strategic communications at the National Security Council, said.
Kirby repeated that the U.S. is “re-evaluating” its relationship with Saudi Arabia after the OPEC country’s decision to cut oil production by 2 million barrels a day, despite reported pleas from the U.S. to delay the reduction for at least one month.
He also claimed that “OPEC nations communicated to us privately that they also disagreed with the Saudi decision, but felt coerced to support Saudi’s direction,” and that the U.S. “presented Saudi Arabia with analysis to show that there was no market basis to cut production targets.”
It’s no surprise that Saudi Arabia and OPEC had a response to that fairytale.
The ministry statement said the agreement between OPEC+ nations was unanimous and sought to balance supply and demand to help curb market volatility, adding that Saudi Arabia rejected any attempt to divert it from the goal of protecting the global economy from oil market fluctuations.
Saudi Arabia was supported by the Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Nayef Falah Al Hajraf.
A missive issued on his website said Al Hajraf “expressed full solidarity” with the Kingdom, adding that statements criticizing Saudi Arabia “lack facts”.
TeamBiden has been pretty upfront about the OPEC+ Decision. They have no problem with it EXCEPT for the Timing. They DEMAND that it be held until after the Mid-Term Election. OPEC+ says no, they don’t Politicize Oil Production …. Which Biden absolutely does.
They better be mindful of the Consequences of attacks on OPEC, because while these Know-Nothings think they can “punish” Saudi Arabia — the “FACT” is that OPEC is 23 Nations AND they do work with Unanimous Decisions. A good example of that was the Oil Embargo in the Carter Administration.

Talking Tough must be in the Leftist DNA. National Security Council spokesman John Kirby threatened a potential halt of arms sales to Saudi Arabia during a Thursday appearance on Fox Business Network.
“We think that the Saudis acted, as chair of OPEC+, in a shortsighted manner here by cutting supply right when supply on the oil market is the predominant challenge that we are facing right now,” Kirby said.
THE “predominant challenge” that Kirby & TeamBiden is facing right now is the Mid-Term Election.
