I've been hearing people complaining about policies like no cash bail and progressive prosecutors not prosecuting people for certain crimes.

These policies seem to be about addressing mass incarceration or jail and prison over-crowding. If not those policies then what would be better ways to reduce over-crowding in jail and prisons?

Over crowded jails and prisons are more difficult for jail and prison staff to control. So something needs to be done to reduce this over-crowding.

Release non-violent/white collar criminals who are not dangerous to be out in society. And make them do years of probation and community service to pay for their millions they defrauded people from.

Two good suggestions. As for the bad boys, chain gangs, Devil's Island, ship them to Venezuela or Kyoober. Lots of options.

Bring back chain gangs. If thugs realize they're not in for three hots and a cot they'll change. Reformation doesn't work. Bring back punishment.

We need to bring back mental institutions. There are a ton of mentally ill people who should be hospitalized, not out on the streets where a sizable portion of them will inevitably commit crimes and end up in prison. This is one area where I actually do not mind paying tax dollars towards. It is for the good of society.

We need to RELEASE all who are in prison for possession of drugs. It's a victimless crime. Why are they in prison?

Rapists get light sentences. There isn't enough of a deterrent. Increase the penalty for rape. Rapists get out quickly and re-offend.

Prison should be punishment but also some kind of rehabilitation. Prisons don't rehab. They just de-humanize people and make them worse than when they went in. And sometimes, they make them better criminals.

That's just a few things off the top of my head.

Where do you stand on punishment for drug dealers?

Certain drugs are more harmful than others. Addictive drugs have broken up families and contributed to the homeless population.
