I'm thankful that I do have other assets besides SS. The rise in interest rates helps as well, in my case anyway. Inflation was bound to happen at some point, and sadly, we are paying the price for the inevitable.
I think senior citizens will suffer.

As far as the raise in Social Security Benefit Payment, historically, that is Eaten Up by an increase in Medicare Part “A” Payment. Historically it leaves less than 1/2 of 1 percent (<1/2%) after Medicare Part “A” increase. That will mean that people on Social Security will suffer Catastrophic Damage from Inflation. Mainly Heating Cost, Food and Gasoline price increases.

Plus, the cost of Medicare is already going up more than the increase in social security, percentage wise.

Glad to hear that you have other assets. Very happy to hear that actually.

I text my brother a lot more than I used to! It’s usually something to the effect of “did you see what President Potato Head said today? Biden is bringing our family closer together! That’s cool!

I'm looking forward to the cap for seniors on drug costs, although that won't go into effect for a few years yet. I'm happy about the insulin caps for those who need it.

I think the costs that we are experiencing were and are inevitable, sadly. It would be under anyone's watch, IMO.

I'm sorry. The republican party simply does not attract me at all. Besides, the official republican mission statement is very antigay. So you guys don't want me over there anyway.
What is it you think Republicans are going to do to your ability to be gay?

Maybe make a case to the SCOTUS to overturn the gay marriage act? After Roe v. Wade, nothing would surprise me.

Respect for Marriage Act passed by US Congress

R v W was upheld and also overturned by Supreme Court

See the difference?

LOL, sorry, had to LOL at “not worried about a President who might be giving away national security secrets.” Joe Biden is much more likely to have engaged in that (or is presently engaging in that) given his history of corruption.

I’m trying hard to think about something that has significantly improved in my life since Joe Biden took office. I tried some new gardening and canning techniques, so that I can be prepared for Joe Biden food supply chain issues? I guess I can chalk that up as a positive, since I enjoyed the ‘learning’ part of it.

Otherwise, while I don’t consider my life to be “bad,” I can’t really think of anything positive in my life that has happened because of Joe Biden or Democrats. I mean, right now I’m dealing with inflation just like everyone else. High gas prices, the threat of war, my shrinking investment accounts, etc. Life was generally better prior to when Joe Biden and “the adults in the room” started leading this country.

So in other words you don't want to touch the crisis on our border via Biden with a ten foot pole!
