Actually, it explains nothing, just that there are lots of outstanding mail in ballots that "favor" Democrats. It does mention the printer/scanning issue from Tuesday, that was also resolved Tuesday.

None of this changes the fact that the states with these issues need to get a handle on it and do much better. Even if you allow mailed in ballots to come in days after the election, you should be able to tally what you had within a day and then report each day as more come in.

Or do like my state does and have 2 weeks of in-person early voting with very little mail in and report 99% by midnight on election day. That seems like a very viable option.

(These "box 3" ballots are the ballots impacted by the bad printer issue from Tues AM)

On that front....

.@MaricopaVote
confirms that the 78k ballots added to the totals were early votes from last Saturday, Sunday, and most of Monday. The 17k "box 3" election day ballots were not counted.

Pima has updated their outstanding ballot estimate. It stands at 114,203.

Statewide estimate 575,233

Sounds like the majority of statewide outstanding is in Pima and Maricopa.

I like the 2 week voting option. Simply 2 weeks of voting, IN PERSON and with PROPER ID.

There simply is no reason to not use that system, with absentee ballots ONLY for people who physically cannot make it to a polling station.

For heck sakes, we are deciding the future of states and the country. I think people can get off their lazy asses and go vote in person and use the same ID they use to buy pot, cigarettes and booze.

Republican Gubnatorial candidate Kari Lake isn't helping any matters by complaining about the process and claiming it is partisan. Can someone please tell her to shut the Hell up? If she has problems with the process, just do all of us Arizonians as favor and just concede the race. She is just going to ruin our state with her vindictive Trumpism policies and divisiveness.

H*ll no. She is right. Why can't Arizona count their votes?? It stinks like corruption.

This sort of delay in close races has been prevalent in AZ since the early 2000s. No cared until 2020, though.

Odd.

The simple answer is "the law(s)".

There's a fix - which of the GOP legislators in AZ is working toward it?

It is the laws. Republicans like Bill Gates (not THAT Bill Gates) and Stephen Richer (the one who unseated SecState candidate Adrian Fontez) in Maricopa County are saying that they are handcuffed by the laws on when they can count. Trust me, I'm in Arizona and covered various election issues dating back several elections MANY times in various threads (including this one) when people wonder why Arizona has mail-in early votes and drop-box votes. I heard this on KTAR when Gates and Richer were giving a press conference update after Lake already opened her ignorant damn mouth. She acts like she didn't cover 2018 which had close races like hers, as Fox10's co-lead anchor.

I'm 60% sure Republicans are going to sneak by and grab the Senate seat in Nevada. 93% of Clark County counted and Lexalt still up about 1%.

Alaska is waiting because 2 Republicans are leading in the senate and its close. But Republicans won there with 99% certainty.

Georgia may not matter. Arizona is going Democrat most likely.
